Dr. Farhana Ferdous is an educator, designer, and scholar whose design and research career spans the continent of Asia, Australia, and North America. She is a Lecturer at the School of Architecture, Design and Planning at the University of Kansas, USA and has a doctorate from the University of Sydney, Australia. She is well known across the globe for her scholarly contribution to healthy urbanism specializing in the area of environmental design for the elderly, community health, and wellbeing at urban scales. Dr. Ferdous is the co-editor of the forthcoming book 'The Routledge Companion to Architecture and Social Engagement'. Her research has been supported by American Association of University Women, Grantmakers in Aging, Endeavour Postgraduate Awards and numerous scholarships from the Bangladesh Government.

Farhan Karim is an Assistant Professor in the School of Architecture, Design, and Planning at the University of Kansas. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Sydney, Australia. His first book,Modernism of Austerity: Formation and Display of Ideal Home in India, 1920–1960, is forthcoming in 2017 from the University of Pittsburgh Press. He is co-editing a volume titled The Routledge Companion to Architecture and Social Engagement. His current research focuses on the involvement of Euro-American architects in the development of modern architecture in post-colonial Pakistan (1947–71). His research has been supported by the Graham Foundation, Canadian Centre for Architecture, Aga Khan Center for Muslim Architecture at MIT, Australian Leadership Award, and various research funds from the University of Kansas. 

Joe Colistra is an Associate Professor at the University of Kansas where he teaches Social Entrepreneurship Design Studios and Professional Practice. He has also held teaching positions at the University of Colorado and the American University of Sharjah. Both his research and practice focus on urban design, housing, and community development projects. He is a licensed architect and founding principal of in situ DESIGN.
